OUR ACHIEVEMENTS
SPC started out in a little shack on Tanjong Beach, by a bunch of guys who loved to spend time on the beach and the sea. SPC has since branched out into dragonboat paddling as the team expanded and other paddlers discovered the joy of long distance paddling, as well as other disciplines in recent years. We were self-coached for many years until we decided that a professional coach is needed to take the club to the next level, and we've gone from strength to strength ever since Coach Denes Szaszak started working with us. From the very first international medal won for dragonboat at the 2010 Club Crew World Championships (CCWC) at Macau, the Singapore Paddle Club has come a long way, dominating the local dragon boat races in Singapore and achieving multiple medals internationally at CCWC (which happens every 2 years) - we push beyond our edge to perform at our best together as a team. Our focus in recent years has been on outrigger canoeing (OC) - we participate in a few international OC races every year - our senior ladies crew won the silver medal for the 2018 Sydney Harbour Challenge 24km iron race with our mixed crew coming in a close 4th, and our men's crew placing 10th in the world at the 2017 International Va'a Distance World Championships at Tahiti, amongst our top achievements.
